Mariam and Kareem reached out to me in late February inquiring about a fresh and new couples portrait session. The couple were recently married in California (where they currently live) but Mariam is from Arkansas. Several members of her family were not able to attend the wedding so they decided to have a post-wedding dinner and reception for close family and friends in March. They wanted a fresh series of intimate couples portraits while they were in town.
Our session was scheduled for mid-March and while we were hoping for some early Spring color, it was still very drab and dreary in Little Rock. I suggested Goodwin Manor as our location so we'd have a stunning home as our backdrop while not having to worry that trees and flowers were not yet blooming.
Our shoot day was as dull and dreary as you can imagine. Low and gloomy clouds were everywhere and fog was starting to set in. As you can see, the colors popped and it didn't matter that is was cloudy, their session and the photos came out perfect.
After I shared the images with Mariam and Kareem, Mariam sent me this e-mail,
"We LOVE the photos!! You have a great eye! We found the couple photos to be very intimate and personal, and the family and guest photos to be candid and genuine. There was some beautiful color contrast as well, and we especially loved the detail photos with the rings. We're thrilled with how they turned out, and I'm finding it difficult not to look at the photos whenever I have free time. Thank you so much!"
