Portraits with Mariam and Kareem | Little Rock, Arkansas Wedding Photographer | KES Weddings

Mariam and Kareem reached out to me in late February inquiring about a fresh and new couples portrait session. The couple were recently married in California (where they currently live) but Mariam is from Arkansas. Several members of her family were not able to attend the wedding so they decided to have a post-wedding dinner and reception for close family and friends in March. They wanted a fresh series of intimate couples portraits while they were in town.

Our session was scheduled for mid-March and while we were hoping for some early Spring color, it was still very drab and dreary in Little Rock. I suggested Goodwin Manor as our location so we'd have a stunning home as our backdrop while not having to worry that trees and flowers were not yet blooming.

Our shoot day was as dull and dreary as you can imagine. Low and gloomy clouds were everywhere and fog was starting to set in. As you can see, the colors popped and it didn't matter that is was cloudy, their session and the photos came out perfect.

After I shared the images with Mariam and Kareem, Mariam sent me this e-mail,

"We LOVE the photos!! You have a great eye! We found the couple photos to be very intimate and personal, and the family and guest photos to be candid and genuine. There was some beautiful color contrast as well, and we especially loved the detail photos with the rings. We're thrilled with how they turned out, and I'm finding it difficult not to look at the photos whenever I have free time. Thank you so much!"

Stephanie & Kevin: An Arkansas Elopement | Lookout Point Lakeside Inn, Hot Springs

I really love photographing elopements. There's something extra special about being the only witness (other than the Minister) to someone's wedding. It's unique. It's Intimate. It's a way to document someone's wedding day without interruption.

I've photographed numerous elopements at Lookout Point Lakeside Inn in Hot Springs. It's a wonderful and quaint Bed & Breakfast in Hot Springs looking over Lake Hamilton. Everything about the Inn is exceptional. The staff, the grounds, the rooms. Everything is perfect.

Stephanie & Kevin drove up from Bossier City, Louisiana last August for their elopement. I really loved my time with them. Kevin looked quite handsome in his Arkansas' own Strong Suit and Stephanie looked nothing short of perfect...And that dress. Oh my that Grecian-style wedding dress. Simply exquisite.

Bridals with Elizabeth | Wildwood Park for Performing Arts | Little Rock, Arkansas

Wildwood Park for the Performing Arts in Little Rock, Arkansas was the perfect garden setting for Elizabeth's bridal session. Below are just a preview of some of my favorites from her session.

Bridals with SaTina | Capital Hotel | Arkansas Wedding Photographer

1920's glamour meets Old Hollywood is the only way for me to describe SaTina's bridal session at the Capital Hotel.

Below are some of my favorites from her bridal session which was one of my favorites of the year.

Engagements with Sarah & Matt | Little Rock River Market | Arkansas Wedding Photographer

I met up with Sarah and Matt for their engagement session on what was the old Riverfest Weekend Saturday. I normally don't photograph engagements in the morning. It's way too humid and the lighting is AWFUL. However Sarah and Matt had plans that evening and it was our only option.

Finding locations not in the full blast of the sun can be a challenge but I love challenges. It's what keeps me on my toes.

Another challenge was avoiding the families, joggers, bikers, and farmers market go-ers...all who use the River Marker every Saturday morning. But with a little patience, timing and the right angles, we had the place to ourselves.
